[Remind-Fans] remind upgrade

Hi all !
I'm planning to upgrade remind to the (I can't believe there's really a)
new version. Here in ubuntu-land, remind (the shaggy old one) is in the
debian repositories. The latest, not yet. Should I;

apt-get remove remind
./configure, make, make-install remind 3.00.23
./configure, make, make-install wyrd

and then .. when they land on the debian servers .. and eventually the
ubuntu repositories .. then what ??

I could just wait, but I can't wait, if ya know what I mean !
