Well, it took me a while to replace this, and in the meantime, there was an upgrade to 10.4, but I was able to get it working simply by removal of some code from my 'constants' file, which I have no idea where I got.  But, oddly enough, now it's just working.

This got me on the right path.  I tried checking that myself, and sure enough, my sunset/sunrise times also jumped back an hour on October 29/30 -- leading me to realize it probably wasn't a problem with the sunset/sunrise stuff, but with the way that remind was thinking my time zone existed.  That led me to comment out, and then delete, some extraneous code that must've been causing the problem.
