You have copied slightly too much of the email into the script.  You
should omit the lines with '----- start script ----' and '---- end
script ----'.  

The first line of the script is the line that starts with '#!/' 
(that's the line which tells linux which interpreter to use for the
script - in this case it is specifying the python interpreter)
