What a time-saver! I have been using vim for months but never done
anything with it other than what you can do in any old editor. 


I am positioning the cursor between the quotes:
iab rem REM MSG "%"%<Left><Left>

For commonly used keywords like PRIORITY I find Ctrl-P (insert
completion) most useful.



Many thanks also for your shell script. I don't work like you do so I
am not using it at the moment but I kept it aside as I might pick up a
few ideas (and a few shell programming tips!) from it.
