That answers a different conundrum for me, actually.  My original wording there was ambiguous: it's the indiscriminate OMIT *SKIP* behaviour that I was thinking to control for this particular message---what if I wanted to have the MSG do an OMIT *BEFORE* in response to all OMITs except my "OMIT nov 22 2004" command?  But this is really contrived; in fact I'm having a hard time remembering what case I had in mind in the first place!  Consider it solved.  Thanks again.
