Help me out. Where would I find my corresponding value? I know I have "Use unstable packages" checked in FinkCommander, if that helps.

I'm not sure I see this. I do see a fink package called 'ncurses-shlibs,' and that is set to 5.3-20031018-2 as well.

I had let Paul know ... I had tried it in xterm, Terminal & iTerm, and all yielded the same error.

Okay, oddly enough, putting myself inside a screen session seemed to make it function *relatively* okay on my end, too. (I'm still a bit puzzled about how to get it work in some ways.)
Eric, does it work for you OUTSIDE of a screen session?
