Thanks Anthony, hopefully it's not just me with the problem, looking forward
to your insight.

I've played with the a little, but have not had any real luck. I get the
keypad to move days and then the arrow keys misbehave, the home key has
never worked while in PuTTY.  Perhaps I just need to find another free win32
compatible SSH client to toss on my USB key? or maybe I'll track down a
PuTTY list and ask there.
