[Remind-Fans] wxRemind - new GUI for remind

Paul and Mark,

Well, that explains it. You both have python 2.4 and the rpm installed
the package in the python 2.3 tree. I suggest you move or copy

/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/wxRemind

to

/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/wxRemind

and see if that helps. Otherwise, read on ...

This experience has convinced me that it is folly for me to try to
produce rpms or debs or xxx. As Clint Eastwood so aptly noted, "A
man has to know his limitations." I'm not a professional programmer
and can't adequately test with access only to my own Centos 4 box.

I've therefore posted wxRemind-2006-05-12.tgz today. It includes an
improved python install script which does not require root
privileges. You unpack the tarball where ever you like and run the
install. All it does is check dependences and install three symbolic
links in a directory of your choice in your path. It doesn't touch
your python tree or anything else. The package files are in a
subdirectory of the directory that contains the scripts and this is
the first place python scripts look. This means no more "No module
named wxRemind" messages. This couldn't be simpler and should work
without any tweaks whatsoever on any platform running python. Famous
last words, right?

Anyway, I hope it works for you.

Best,
Dan
