[Remind-Fans] formatted output

I am producing a daily email with remind.

I would like to group the messages under different headings to make the 
output more readable.

I remember reading somewhere that empty lines can be inserted but I'll 
be damned if I can find it again.  How can I insert headings 
("Birthdays", "Finance", ...), preferably formatted bold?
