[Remind-Fans] skip parsing lines that do not begin with rem command

you should be looking at the todo.py code (or todo.sh, if you're using 
that) it would be much simpler to teach todo.py to ignore leading #s 
than it would be to get remind (and Mr Skoll) to ignore anything that 
might be a todotxt task.
