See examples/defs.rem in the Remind distribution, specifically the
section #JHOLS

Here's how we do Rosh Hashana, for example:

REM [HEBDATE(1, "Tishrey")] MSG Rosh Hashana 1

See the man page for the hebdate() function; there are some subtleties
for Heshvan, Kislev and Adar A.
