[Remind-Fans] Suppress reminder color codes in tkremind?

I use colors for emphasis in some of my reminders, e.g.:
[Grn]Do the thing today[Nrm]%

When I bring these up in tkremind, I see the escape codes:
[0;32mDo the thing today[0m

Is there a way to suppress the colors in reminders in tkremind?
