[RP-PPPoE] Connect on start up using inet1 and re-connect on disconnect?

Alright! I get to initiate this list with the first pppoe post!

I am trying to set up a Slackware router for my DSL connection.


Question #1-

What is the correct way to initiate a pppoe connection using inet1?  I can 
manually start pppoe using pppoe-start but, I want my machine to 
automatically connect and I don't want to use rc.local.


Question #2-

How do I set pppoe to automattically reconnect on dropped connections?
