This isn't a pppoe question and although you have a case that 'seems' to 
make it suspect, pppoe has nothing to do with X at all. Really.
I bet you are running some kind of firewall script that is doing too 
good of a job - and protecting yourself from you. I betcha if you 
cleared your firewall it would start working.
