Hi, all,
I have a release candidate for RP-PPPoE 3.11 available from the PPPoE page:
http://www.roaringpenguin.com/products/pppoe
The difference between RC2 and RC1 is that RC2 support an mru/mtu of 1500
on both server and client if the underlying Ethernet interface has an MTU
of at least 1508.
PLEASE NOTE: The folks at https://ppp.samba.org/ ship a forked version
of RP-PPPoE and they haven't contacted me about getting their patches
into upstream. :( The mtu/mru patch was inspired by their code.
I'd appreciate it if you could give it a test to make sure it's OK. The
changelog is below.
If no problems are found, I'll be releasing 3.11 soon.
Regards,
David.
Changes from Version 3.10 to 3.11:
o Permit both PPPoE server and client to specify an MTU/MRU of 1500 assuming
the underlying Ethernet interface has an MTU of at least 1508. The larger
MTU is negotiated per RFC 4638. NOTE: Only available with kernel-mode
plugin, not user-mode pty redirector.
o Get rid of hard-coded nobsdcomp, nodeflate, novj and novjccomp options
in pppoe-server.
o Apply patch from Philip Prindeville to allow cross-compiling.
o Handle UNIT=xxx directive in pppoe-connect. (Keith Waters)
o Add "-i" flag to pppoe-server to ignore PADIs if there are no free sessions.
Change suggested by Miroslav Lednicky.
o Ignore PADTs not destined for our ethernet address.
o Add "-X <pidfile>" option to pppoe-server.
o Cleanup Makefile.in. (Philip Prindeville)
o In plugin, don't set devnam if it's already set. (Mike Ireton)
o Eliminate race condition in signal handling.
o pppoe-server: Add -q and -Q options to allow specification of path to
pppd and pppoe programs respectively.
o Add a few more sanity checks to pppoe-server packet handling.
o Use -fno-strict-aliasing when compiling with gcc to avoid possible problems
from -O2 optimization level.
