Just looking at the diff, in many places you hard-code /sbin/ip;
this will fail on Debians (/bin/ip) and non-usrmerge Fedoras,
how-ever rare they might be nowadays (/usr/sbin/ip) ‒
might be best to take that from autoconf instead.

Giving the rest a spin (I don't use the scripts, personally),
but I don't forsee any issues.
