Actually, Debian's "iproute2" makes a symlink from /sbin/ip to /bin/ip.

$ dpkg -L iproute2 | grep bin/ip
/bin/ip
/sbin/ip

$ ls -l /sbin/ip
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Dec  3 13:42 /sbin/ip -> /bin/ip

But anyway, it is better not to hard-code it.
