You could do it like this:
REM MAY 15 +10 MSG %"Gary%" Ross is [year(trigdate()) - 1962] %v

> /usr/local/lib/birthdays(53): RUN disabled

Remind turns off RUN if the reminders file is not owned by you, or
is world-writable.
