That should work already.  We do support the PPP-Max-Payload tag if
you're using kernel-mode PPPoE.  All you should need to do is speciy an MTU/MRU
of 1500 in your PPP options, and the tag should be added correctly.

It's not supported in user-mode PPPoE, but nobody should be using that
any more... kernel-mode has been around for a very long time.
